Kaizer Chiefs have only now confirmed the signing of young and promising Zimbabwe Under 23 attacking midfielder Brian Abbas Amidu, weeks after the young man had broken news of his move to the Naturena-based club.
ABSA Premiership Club normally issue statements through their websites or through the social networks of their public relations officers, and nothing had been said by Chiefs to confirm the news broken by many Zimbabwean newspapers, chiefly the independent Daily News.
Now Amakhosi PRO Luthando Zibeko has finally broken the silence and confirmed on his Twitter account the signing of Amidu from Zimbabwe Castle Lager Premiership side Black Mambas.
No details regarding figures involved are available at this stage.
Amakhosi meanwhile, have renewed contracts of five of their key players whose contracts were due to expire at the end of the season. The players include two Warriors defenders Jimmy Jambo and Thomas Sweswe, plus the trio of Bafana Bafana keeper Itumeleng Khune, Abia Nale and Josta Dladla.
Dladla extended his contract by just a year, while Khune, Sweswe,Jambo and Nale have extended their deals by three years,keeping them at the club until 2015. |
