Two teams considered minor teams at the AFCON finals this year, Libya and Niger, have announced their final squads for the tournament, and there are no big name players to excite readers.
Harouna Doula who won Coach of the Year award at the CAF awards late last year, announced a squad dominated by players who play on the African continent in countries like Tunisia, Cameroon, Morroco, South Africa in the Libyan local league which was seriously disturbed by the civil war for much of the qualifiers.
Niger are in Group D with co-hosts Gabon whom they meet on 23 January, followed by ties against North African giants Tunisia (27 January) and Morroco (31 January). All matches will be hosted by Gabon in Libreville.
Doula can boast of about five players who ply their trade outside Africa in Belgium, France, Sweden and Thailand.
