European and Italian giants Inter Milan and Russian rich club Anzhi Makhachkala have finally agreed on the figures in the sale of star striker Samuel Eto'o Fils, and the player is currently undergoing medicals in Rome.
In a deal which will see Eto'o become the highest paid footballer in world football, Inter will pocket €22 million, while the player himself stands to earn €20 million per annum.
The deal has been structured in a way that will see Anzhi pay Inter €5 million if Eto'o scores 15 goals per season. Inter stand to pocket an additional €10 million if the goal tally reaches 30.
Should Eto'o help Anzhi qualify for the lucrative UEFA Champions League phase, Inter will receive an extra €5 million.
Eto'o's negotiating team has issued a statement, in which the player expressed joy at the conclusion of the deal.
“I am very delighted to pick up this new challenge in the Russian championship and wil open up to all my fans about all that transpired in the day to come,” Eto'o said in a statement. |
