Rusike scores a double in Sweden

Matthew Rusike goes for the kill in a league match against Djugardens

Matthew Rusike is a striker in great scoring form and he demonstrated this on Saturday by scoring a brace in Halmstad's 2-4 away loss to Djugardens in the Swedish topflight league, the Allsvenskan.

Rusike scored in the 32nd minute to equalise for his club before hitting the nets again in the 42nd minute to give Halmstad a 2-1 lead which however could not stand, as the home-side hit back to end up 4-2 winners.

Djugardens is the side that has had Nyasha Mushekwi on loan for the past six months. The loan deal expired last Monday, and the Swedish side is reportedly locked in negotiations with the Warriors striker's parent club Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa to either extend the loan deal or to thrash out a permanent deal.

Rusike was very unfortunate to end up on a losing side. He put up a hearty performance for 85 minutes sbefore he was taken off and deserved at least a draw. The former Kaizer Chiefs forward has now scored three goals in just four matches for Halmstad.

The former Young Warriors utility player is part of Zimbabwe coach Calisto Pasuwa's squad called up for the AFCON 2017 qualifier against Guinea in Harare next weekend. His form, Knowledge Musona and Mushekwi's will come as good news for Pasuwa and the Warriors fans as Zimbabwe plan a second win in their AFCON 2017 qualifying group.

Meanwhile, teenager Tino Kadewere was introduced by Djugardens in the 83rd minute and that becomes the official league match for the Young Warriors striker. Kadewere has already scored for Djugardens in a cup match played about two weeks ago.

In Belgium, KV Oostende felt the absence of Musona as they suffered a shock home defeat, their first in the Pro League this season, against visiting Zulte-Waregen on Saturday evening. Musona is serving a two match ban for a caution received in the 3-1 win over champions Anderletch. The Warriors star striker scored a brace in that match to now lead the goal scoring charts with four goals in just five matches played for Oostende this season.
