The Kaizer Chiefs Football Manager Bobby Motaung has revealed that the club will meet the midfield dynamo Tinashe Nengomasha this week to discuss contract renewal.
The former South African PSL Player of the Season and the Players' Player of the Season (2003/2004) has played over 300 games for Amakhosi and his contract expires in June.
The Zimbabwean Warriors vice-captain has captained Chiefs from time to time in the absence of substantive captains.
Nengomasha who is affectionately known by millions of Chiefs as the General, has played for Kaizer Chiefs for more than 10 years, featuring prominently in the starting line-up for all the years he has served Chiefs.
His loyalty to Amakhosi is something that the Chiefs management, especially Bobby Motaung who recruited the player from Zimbabwe at a time when he was virtually unknown as a soccer powerhouse.
"The General (Nengomasha) has been one of the longest serving players and has given all for this team (Chiefs).
"We will meet him next week (this week) to discuss the way forward, the structure of his contract taking into account all the factors," Motaung told the Kaizer Chiefs website.
It is not clear when exactly Motaung expects to meet with the General this week given the defensive mid-fielder's international duties with the Zimbabwe national soccer team, currently in camp for the 2014 Fifa World Cup qualifier against Guinea on 4 June.
