| ABSA Premier Soccer League champions look poised to successfully defend their title following their dramatic fight back to emerge 2-1 victors over visiting Bloemfontein Celtic at Orlando Stadium on Saturday afternoon. With only a game remaining against a seemingly weakened Golden Aarrows side that wa clobbered 4-1 by Ajax Cape Town on Saturday in the mother city. Such is the fickle nature of this beautiful game called soccer that a team that was beaten for 4-2 only last weekend can return with such vengeance against another to score so many goal. Arrows under Muhsin Ertugal are by no means pushovers'especially at home, and Bucs should brace themselves for a redeeming fight from the KZN side. Moroka Swallows strengthened their position as Pirates' main title challengers after they achieved a great 2-1 result against in-form side Platinum Stars in Rusternburg. Siyabonga Nomvete scored a brace to take his tally to 20 goals. What a remarkable achievement for the 34 year old striker who is sure to spearhead Bafana Bafana's attack against Ethiopia in a World Cup 2014 qualifier in June. Swallows were helped by Mamelodi Sundowns' slip up against city rivals Supersport United. Meanwhile Kaizer Chiefs picked up their 3rd straight revival after achieving a late win against Free State Stars. |
