Tornado B will be gutted they could not progress to the knockout phase of the season-opening National Twenty Cricket League, despite a stellar show at the weekend.
It was the ’Kibuukamusoke Show’ at Kyambogo Oval as the two brothers (Jeremy and Cyrus) and their father William chipped in with fine all-round performances as Tornado B brushed aside SVPC and Tamil Lions. Jeremy claimed two scalps and then Cyrus finished unbeaten on 34 and William added 19 as Tornado B restricted SVPC to 95 enroute to securing a one-wicket win.
William was once gain on fire in the afternoon with 17 runs as Tornado B raced to 100 for 7 to earn a three-wicket win over Tamil Lions.
They finished joint fourth in Group B with Tamil Lions on 20 points but were undone by their earlier poor shows as their Net Run Rate (NRR) of -0.38 was folds poorer than that of Tamil Lions (0.38).
The Lions meet Tornado, who finished top of Group A with 25 points during the first quarterfinal at Lugogo on Sunday.
